About The Position

We are seeking a proactive, highly organized, and intuitive Part-time House Manager & Family Assistant to join our calm, structured, and intentional family in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. This role is ideal for someone who can independently manage the flow of the household during the day, bringing order, momentum, and care without constant direction. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining strong systems, consistent upkeep, and thoughtful attention to detail. The goal is to ensure the family returns home to an organized space with meals prepared or underway, tasks completed, and the mental load lifted, allowing for present and unhurried evenings with the children. This position offers 15-20 hours per week, with flexible daytime hours, and potential for additional childcare coverage during date nights.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • Comfortable working in a home with a dog.
  • Strong professional references.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Comfortable working with infants preferred for date night/backup care coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare 2-3 fresh, home-cooked full dinners per week, timed for readiness upon family's arrival or easy reheating.
  • Prepare grab-and-go breakfasts/school lunches and family lunch options.
  • Manage full family laundry, including washing, folding, organizing, and putting away.
  • Consistently rotate linens (sheets and towels) and handle light ironing/steaming.
  • Manage children's clothing systems, including seasonal transitions and organization of outgrown items.
  • Daily reset of kitchen and shared living spaces, including dishes, surfaces, and light tidying.
  • Light vacuuming and upkeep of high-traffic areas.
  • Maintain and improve household organization systems.
  • Prep home for bi-weekly cleaning service visits.
  • Handle seasonal decor transitions.
  • Proactively manage small household tasks such as replacing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors.
  • Care for indoor plants.
  • Perform periodic deep cleaning of appliances and household systems.
  • Undertake organizational projects for closets, toys, gear, and storage systems.
  • Maintain pantry, household supply, and consumable inventory awareness.
  • Maintain and update a shared household supply and needs list.
  • Handle mail, package intake, and box breakdown.
  • Assist with gift shopping and wrapping.
  • Coordinate and perform household errands as needed.
  • Ensure a consistent stock of household essentials.
  • Provide backup support for school pickup/drop-off as needed.
  • Provide occasional childcare coverage for date nights (1-2 times per month).
  • Assist with birthday party preparations, including wrapping and packaging.
  • Manage reminders and execution of family correspondence.
  • Create and maintain a home maintenance log for services, repairs, and replacements.
  • Act as a liaison with the cleaning service.
  • Source and coordinate quotes for home projects and present vendor options for approval.
  • Coordinate scheduling and oversee the execution of approved home work.
  • Proactively identify home maintenance needs.
  • Restock vehicles with essentials like snacks, diapers, and clothing.
  • Maintain and clean car seats.
  • Organize rotating snack and entertainment bins for car use.
  • Maintain vehicle readiness and cleanliness (interior focus).
