About The Position

We are a busy, warm, and wonderfully chaotic family of seven, with five amazing children ranging in age from two years old (twins) to 11. Our home is full of energy, laughter, and the beautiful noise that comes with raising a big family: singing, movement, hosting, and lots of love. Life here is full, and that's exactly how we like it. One parent works full-time and travels frequently for work, and the other is a former educator who is fully dedicated to the kids and home — and who would love to reclaim a few hours each week for the things that bring her joy. Our family cares deeply about kindness, and as parents we try hard to model that for our kids every day. We pride ourselves on forming long-lasting relationships with the household support we already have in place, and are excited to find someone who will complement our existing village. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh structure to areas that have gotten away from us, and help this household run more smoothly — so we can all be more present in the ways that matter most.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Maintain a smoke-free environment
• Fragrance-free when working in the home
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (including Tdap and MMR), subject to applicable legal accommodations
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Confident, self-directed professional who doesn't need to be told twice.
• Systems thinker who finds genuine satisfaction in bringing order to chaos.
• Love kids, and ideally have some experience working in a home with children.
• Warm and personable, but know how to hold professional boundaries and manage your own role with integrity.
• Reliable to your core.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain household organization systems throughout the home, including closets, cupboards, storage areas, and seasonal items
• Execute daily and weekly resets to keep the home running smoothly (dishes, wiping surfaces, picking up clutter, vacuuming high-traffic areas, etc.)
• Coordinate clothing hand-me-downs between children and prepare items for donation
• Monitor outdoor storage areas and assist with garage and outdoor toy maintenance
• Process and organize produce as it comes in; rotate fridge items to reduce waste
• Provide regular backup childcare, approximately one 2-3 hour window per week, especially for the younger children
• Serve as backup for pickups and drop offs on occasion/as requested
• Availability for occasional date nights preferred
• Opportunity to travel with the family a few times per year for additional compensation
• Manage household inventory to maintain a well-stocked pantry, fridge, and supply closet without over-ordering or duplicating
• Handle Amazon and other returns
• Process and put away incoming packages; break down and dispose of boxes
• Manage running household shopping lists and subscriptions
• Assist with large Costco runs one to two times per month, including unpacking and organizing
• Manage kids’ laundry and miscellaneous laundry: washing, folding, and putting away
• Implement a more efficient and organized laundry system for a large, active family
• Handle stain treatment and sorting by wash cycle requirements
• Manage linen closets and coordinate with existing household support on linen rotation
• Keep laundry areas tidy and well stocked
• Tackle ongoing organizational projects: attic clothing bins, holiday decoration storage (including a large collection of seasonal decor and trees), toy and gear organization
• Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and mudroom items (e.g., transitioning from summer gear to winter gear and back)
• Occasional deep cleaning tasks as needed (fridge, oven, baseboards) in coordination with existing cleaning support

Benefits

• Additional hours available for date nights and occasional travel pending employee interest/availability
• Compensation: $30-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience
