We are a vibrant, high-energy family living in Davis, CA, with three active, sports-loving boys (elementary and middle school aged). Our home is a bustling hub that regularly welcomes friends and teammates after school. With demanding schedules, we experience substantial decision fatigue around dinner and day-to-day logistics. We are seeking a warm, proactive House Manager & Family Assistant who can step in, take true ownership of our kitchen and daily organization, and bring calm, nourishing ease to our family's weekly rhythm. The ideal candidate is an energetic, warm, and confident self-starter who naturally takes initiative. They thrive in a lively, kid-filled environment and bring genuine, upbeat energy into a home. They are confident in the kitchen, culinary-minded, and love preparing wholesome, delicious family-friendly food. They take pride in running a kitchen from building weekly menus and stocking groceries to cooking family dinners and keeping grab-and-go snacks loaded for hungry kids. They are an organizer who loves bringing order to busy spaces, sees what needs to be done, makes the decision, and handles it, creating systems that make daily life feel effortless for the parents.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan and cook 3 healthy, family-friendly dinners in-home each week
  • Prepare nutritious, grab-and-go snacks and meal options tailored for after-school and pre/post-practice fueling
  • Manage grocery planning and shopping cycles
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including daily counter clearing, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and post-cooking kitchen resets
  • Perform daily resets, counter sweeps, and light tidying to keep main living areas calm and uncluttered
  • Prepare and reset the home ahead of weekly cleaner visits
  • Take full ownership of the pantry and snack cabinets (restocking, organizing, maintaining inventory)
  • Lead seasonal clothing swaps for the boys
  • Coordinate decluttering projects and handle drop-offs for donated items
  • Break down delivery and recycling boxes regularly
  • Monitor household inventory and restock pantry, fridge, and everyday supplies
  • Run household errands including dry cleaning drop-offs/pickups, returns, and store runs
  • Provide occasional errand and snack restocking support for Dad’s law firm in Sacramento
  • Receive and manage incoming mail and packages
  • Provide regular care for 2 family dogs (feeding, walking)
  • Assist with routine yard cleanup (occasional pet waste removal)
  • Keep pet food and supplies organized and stocked
  • Provide light laundry support (washing, folding, putting away)
  • Assist with quick linen rotations and keeping laundry areas tidy
  • Help set up, sync and support the family schedule across digital tools
  • Assist with occasional, backup school or practice drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Periodically clean and reorganize the refrigerator, freezer, and high-traffic snack zones
  • Assist with targeted organizational projects (sports gear sorting, toy resets, mudroom flow)
