About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is seeking an In-Home, Associate Veterinarian in Nassau County, NY and surrounding areas. This role offers an alternative to traditional in-clinic practice, focusing on compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families. Lap of Love is veterinarian-founded and owned, prioritizing both professional fulfillment and personal freedom. The position allows for practice with purpose in a balanced and supported environment, with a community of over 400 veterinarians and support professionals. Ongoing training, seasoned mentors, and dedicated practice managers are provided. The role emphasizes flexibility, with an average of 3-4 un-rushed appointments per day, allowing more time with families and less time on paperwork. This work is described as deeply appreciated and emotionally fulfilling.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Availability to work some weekends
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Candidates will be subject to a background and motor vehicle record check, post-hire and before their associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families.
- Conduct an average of 3-4 un-rushed appointments per day.
- Practice medicine that aligns with personal values.
