About The Position

The House Attendant is responsible for maintaining and cleaning assigned areas and equipment, as well as delivering items to guestrooms, such as express checkout materials and newspapers where applicable. The role supports housekeeping operations and guest satisfaction at The New Yorker Hotel.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand for the entire shift.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees at all levels and with guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

Buff marble floors daily according to hotel standards.
Shampoo carpets in public areas according to hotel standards.
Shampoo furniture as needed.
Handle luggage assistance requests in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner.
Handle Lost and Found items according to hotel standards.
Clean guestrooms as needed.
Know and assist with emergency procedures.
Maintain hotel equipment in proper working order and store it in the proper area.
Complete special projects assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Deliver items to guestrooms, including express checkout materials and newspapers where applicable.
