About The Position

Griswold Home Care for Northern Vermont is seeking experienced caregivers who are reliable, communicative, and take pride in their work. Our clients depend on us for consistency and peace of mind, so we need caregivers who understand the importance of reliability and communication alongside compassion. This role is ideal for individuals who want to build lasting relationships with clients and become trusted members of their care team. We value experienced caregivers and offer support from our local office team. We are looking for individuals who show up, communicate promptly, follow through on commitments, pay attention to client needs, take ownership of their responsibilities, and treat clients with dignity and respect. If you frequently cancel shifts, arrive late, or have difficulty communicating, this position may not be the right fit. We expect honesty, accountability, and communication.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience caring for older adults in a home care or facility setting
  • Take scheduled shifts seriously
  • Arrive on time and be prepared to work
  • Communicate promptly when an issue arises
  • Comfortable working independently in a client's home
  • Follow care plans and office instructions
  • Notice changes in a client's condition, mood, or needs and communicate them appropriately
  • Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done
  • Treat clients, families, and coworkers with professionalism and respect
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Valid car insurance
  • Ability to successfully complete required background and employment screenings
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Three strong professional references
