About The Position

Assists with the overall day-to-day operation of a diverse work force in the Housekeeping Department. Ensures cleanliness of rooms through teamwork.

Requirements

  • Individuals must be highly motivated and self-directed with a minimum of two years hotel housekeeping operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of chemicals and cleaning supplies and technique/equipment including MSDS, OSHA, etc. guidelines.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand, bilingual helpful (Spanish & English).
  • Must have the ability to calmly handle stressful situations and be willing to work any day any shift.
  • Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Demonstrates proper use of safety practices in all procedures.
  • Immediately report unsafe incidents or unsafe conditions when they occur to the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate proper use of PPE (glasses, gloves, belts).
  • Must assist patrons in answering questions and directing them to areas of safety during emergencies as directed by management, security, or marine crew members.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment usage according to department standards.
  • Demonstrate proper use of chemicals and MSDS sheets.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written
  • Proficient with iOS devices
  • Communicate directly with management, staff and guests.
  • Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions
  • Must have the ability to hold an Occupational License as required by the Illinois Gaming Board.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer software knowledge to include Word and Excel is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect guest rooms to ensure the highest cleaning standards are met.
  • Ensure all team members follow hotel policies and procedures.
  • Expedites and overseas special requests from the Front Desk.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Motivates employees to provide superior customer service to our guests.
  • Monitors job performance daily.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to departmental and company policies.
  • Provides for safety and security
  • Handles employees' complaints or grievances in conjunction with supervisor.
  • Recommends disciplinary action
  • Plans work
  • Supervisors and monitor’s work
  • Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws
  • Must be able to strip beds and pull unwanted trash from rooms
  • Clean and maintain assigned guestrooms, and other areas as instructed by supervisory staff when necessary.
  • Customer concerns in the employee’s area of responsibility are handled immediately and reported to the supervisor for follow-up.
  • Assure exceptional customer service to all patrons by communicating in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always.
  • Must adhere to all company/departmental policies and procedures. Must be aware and adhere to internal control rules.
