About The Position

The Hotel Porter performs duties to meet Town Pump and brand operational standards, maintaining clean and orderly public areas such as the lobby, public restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and fitness center. The role is expected to model the Hotel Group Mission Statement: “Genuine Hospitality from genuine people committed to providing comfort and service.” The porter helps ensure a positive guest experience while following operating guidelines, demonstrating pride in workmanship, and maintaining confidentiality of guest and company information. The position includes keeping the exterior building and grounds clean and clear, gathering linens from guest rooms, and assisting room attendants with room cleaning as needed. The porter secures equipment, tools, and inventory; follows safe-work practices; completes training and daily checklist assignments; and may cross-train or assist in front desk and housekeeping departments. The role requires general housekeeping and recordkeeping knowledge, the ability to understand oral and written instructions, and the physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and work in confined spaces and at varying heights. Work includes regular exposure to outdoor weather, including extreme heat and cold.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Knowledge of general housekeeping and recordkeeping.
Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and climb.
Regularly lift and carry tools and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.
Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Responsibilities

Maintain clean common and public areas, including the lobby, public restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and fitness center.
Help provide the best possible guest experience while following Town Pump operating guidelines and brand standards.
Keep exterior building areas and grounds clean and clear by removing trash, debris, snow, ice, and other weather-related hazards.
Gather linens from guest rooms for housekeeping staff and assist room attendants with room cleaning as needed.
Keep equipment, tools, and inventory stock secure.
Follow safe working practices in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, including Bloodborne Pathogens practices.
Complete required company and brand-specific training and certifications in a timely manner.
Follow grooming and appearance guidelines and wear a uniform and nametag while on shift.
Maintain the confidentiality of guest and company information.
Complete tasks and assignments on the daily Porter Checklist.
Assist in other departments as needed, including through cross-training with the front desk and housekeeping.
Complete other tasks assigned by management.
