About The Position

Responsible for achieving and maintaining an exceptional level of cleanliness throughout the public areas of the hotel. This role involves cleaning furniture, glass, mirrors, elevators, planters, framed pictures, and other furnishings in public areas, including the lobby, pool, and restrooms. The position also includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors, hallways, and stairs. Additionally, the Hotel Porter removes trash and dirty linens from public areas and guest rooms, delivers special request items to guest rooms, and maintains storeroom organization by stocking carts with supplies for Room Attendants. The role also assists in stripping linen and trash from departed guest rooms, keeps exterior doors and elevators clean and polished, and manages a passkey during their assigned shift. The Hotel Porter checks all floors for trash or debris and cleans furnishings as needed, including in vending areas. They are also responsible for keeping the employee elevator clean and utilizing specialized floor equipment that requires technical expertise. The role promotes an atmosphere of fun for casino guests and encourages mutual respect, dignity, and integrity among employees by setting positive examples.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Regularly required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Applicant must successfully complete screening for essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

Responsibilities

  • Removes trash and dirty linens from public areas and guest rooms.
  • Delivers special request items, such as cribs or rollaway beds, to guest rooms.
  • Maintains shelf organization in the storerooms, stocks carts with supplies for the Room Attendants.
  • Assists in stripping all linen and trash from departed guests rooms.
  • Keeps exterior doors cleaned, polished, dusted, including the polishing of elevators tracks.
  • Takes responsibility for a passkey during assigned shift by signing out and turning in at end of shift to appropriate person.
  • Checks all floors by elevator landings. Empty any trash or debris and clean furnishings as needed.
  • Checks all floors in vending areas. Empty any trash or debris and clean furnishings as needed.
  • Cleans employee elevator by keeping inside fresh and clean.
  • Utilize specialized floor equipment that requires technical expertise.
  • Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.
