About The Position

The Hotel Night Manager serves as the primary Manager on Duty (MOD) during overnight hours. They are responsible for overseeing front desk operations, directing the night audit process, ensuring property safety and security, and resolving guest issues. They bridge the gap between evening and morning operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Night Auditor, Front Desk Agent, or Shift Supervisor in a hospitality environment.
  • High familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera, OnQ, or ChoiceAdvantage.
  • Intermediate to advanced math skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Excellent de-escalation/customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent property leadership, handling escalated guest complaints, late-night requests, and VIP arrivals.
  • Manage and support the overnight front desk, night porters, security, and any in-house housekeeping or maintenance staff.
  • Facilitate smooth and accurate overnight registration and departure procedures.
  • Oversee or perform the night audit, which involves balancing financial transactions, auditing daily registers, and posting charges.
  • Generate and distribute daily occupancy reports, financial summaries, and operational logs.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the hotel, ensuring public areas are secure and well-maintained.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for medical, fire, or severe weather emergencies and coordinate with local emergency services if necessary.
  • Liaise with the Kitchen, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams to address any immediate facility or guest needs.
  • Prepare detailed shift notes and handovers for the incoming morning management team.
