About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a facility, particularly in hotel environments. This position is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of complex systems such as boilers, refrigeration units, compressors, and chilled water systems to maintain optimal performance and safety standards. The Maintenance Engineer will implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment, thereby supporting the overall guest experience and operational efficiency. Collaboration with other departments and external vendors is essential to coordinate repairs and upgrades while adhering to regulatory compliance and safety protocols. Ultimately, this role ensures that all maintenance activities contribute to a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for both staff and guests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working with boilers, refrigeration, compressors, and electrical systems in a maintenance engineering capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and hotel maintenance operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Expertise in boilers, plumbing, refrigeration, compressors, and electrical systems are applied daily to inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure ensuring uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Knowledge of boiler systems and chilled water systems enables the engineer to optimize heating and cooling processes, directly impacting energy efficiency and guest comfort.
  • Preventive maintenance skills are essential to proactively identify potential issues before they escalate, reducing costly downtime and emergency repairs.
  • Hotel maintenance experience allows the engineer to understand the unique demands of hospitality environments, balancing technical work with minimal disruption to guests.

  • Certification in HVAC, boiler operation, or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers, refrigeration systems, compressors, swimming pool, spa, chilled water systems, and electrical systems to ensure reliable operation.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, electrical faults, and mechanical failures promptly to minimize disruption to hotel operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repairs to support compliance and future planning.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized repairs, parts procurement, and system upgrades.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
