About The Position

Fairfield Inn and Suites York, NE is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to maintain the hotel and help provide exceptional guest service. The role involves diagnosing and repairing issues in guest rooms and public areas, maintaining building systems, completing preventative maintenance, and ensuring the property remains safe and fully functional. The engineer works independently, uses sound troubleshooting practices, and completes work orders promptly and accurately. The position may be part-time or full-time.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hotel maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders as needed.
• Basic computer or mobile app skills for work order tracking.
• Availability for occasional on-call or emergency response.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions without constant oversight.
• Applicants must undergo a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Hotel maintenance or related experience of 2 or more years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas.
• Perform quarterly preventative maintenance in all guest rooms.
• Conduct major mechanical inspections and repairs.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
• Handle routine work orders with speed and accuracy.
• Complete exterior upkeep, including grounds, lighting, and signage.
• Monitor and coordinate outside vendors and contractors.
• Support and enforce the hotel's risk management and safety programs.
• Ensure guest and employee safety at all times.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
