Engineer (Hotel Maintenance)

About The Position

Perform preventative and repair maintenance to ensure the hotel meets established quality and sustainability standards, while treating guests in a warm and friendly manner. The role may also provide bell-attendant coverage during staffing shortages or peak check-in and check-out periods. Work schedules vary and may include weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Previous engineer or maintenance experience, or equivalent training.
Ability to perform the listed maintenance and repair duties.
Ability to stand for extended periods; walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, bend and reach, kneel, stoop, crawl, and climb.

Trade school coursework in a related field.

Responsibilities

Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
Paint designated areas and items.
Install or replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
Repair furniture.
Install, replace, and program televisions.
Perform minor plumbing functions.
Replace and repair heating and cooling pumps and perform preventative maintenance on units.
Trace and repair water lines.
Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records.
Perform and maintain work in accordance with local, state, and Federal codes.
Monitor guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
Work as a bell attendant during staffing shortages or peak check-in and check-out periods.
Follow Service Recovery Guidelines.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
