About The Position

The Hotel Chief Engineer oversees the day-to-day operations of the hotel engineering department at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Draper. This is a full-time position with a schedule typically during AM hours, Monday through Friday, unless hotel needs dictate otherwise. The role requires after-hours on-call availability when issues arise, including nights and weekends. Salary is based on experience. Bilingual Spanish/English ability and technical certifications in electrical, plumbing, or related fields are pluses.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of Chief Engineer experience, or 5 years of Assistant Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor experience.
At least 3 years of maintenance experience.

Technical certifications in electrical, plumbing, or other related fields.

Responsibilities

Train, mentor, counsel, and discipline engineering department colleagues.
Attain hotel and departmental goals while adhering to company standards.
Supervise, develop, and maintain ongoing hotel maintenance operations, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, HVAC units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, and electrical substations.
Respond to or perform groundskeeping duties, including snow removal.
Order tools, parts, and materials and manage inventory.
Maintain maintenance records and accurately track expenses, including costs and capital items.
Prepare the annual maintenance budget.
Remain available on call after hours, including nights and weekends, if an issue arises.
