About The Position

The primary purpose of this role is to provide quality service to hotel restaurant customers by offering prompt and courteous food and beverage service. This includes meeting and exceeding customer and team member expectations through service and teamwork. The role involves accurately recording and processing orders, serving food and beverages, setting tables, and contributing to overall customer satisfaction. The barista will also acquire knowledge of hotel services and local information to assist guests, and will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the breakfast area and dining room. Additionally, the role involves stocking breakfast bar items, processing customer bills accurately, and ensuring all room charges are posted correctly. The barista will inquire about customer satisfaction, attempt to resolve complaints, and issue bills according to hotel policies.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of restaurant serving experience required
  • Must be flexible in work hours to accommodate last minute changes in scheduling
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Displays working knowledge of cash register to ring up bills
  • Ability to accurately handle cash, credit cards and checks
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers

Responsibilities

  • Meets and exceeds customer and team member expectations by providing service and teamwork
  • Provides prompt, courteous service by bussing, serving, and setting tables
  • Accurately records, pre-checks, and picks up all food and beverage orders
  • Serves customers their food and beverage orders in prompt and courteous manner
  • Sets tables as needed prior to customer arrival
  • Contributes to customer satisfaction by attending to restaurant customer needs
  • Acquires a working knowledge of hotel, in-house facilities, and local information to respond to customer questions in these areas as required
  • Informs host/hostess or manager of any customer dissatisfaction
  • Ensures that breakfast area/restaurant is in proper condition for arrival of customers
  • Verifies workstations are stocked, neat and orderly
  • Checks the overall condition of the dining room, insuring its readiness for customers
  • Stocks breakfast bar items such as cereal, breads, muffins, etc. and other cold items and assist cook as needed in set up of hot dishes
  • Processes customer restaurant bills promptly and accurately
  • Sends all room charges immediately to Front Desk for posting
  • Inquires in to the level of satisfaction experienced by the customer; attempts to rectify any complaints and/or refers them to the manager
  • Issues customer bills in accordance with hotel’s policies
