About The Position

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel and will provide support to the General Manager. You will direct and coordinate hotel activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize full potential with a balanced focus on the hotel’s mission, guests, employees, and owners’ satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of hotel operations
  • Strong people and time management skills
  • The ability to assign or delegate work and authority to others
  • A university degree or diploma in hotel management or a related field or the equivalent of two years of experience in the hotel industry

Nice To Haves

  • Marriott Brand experience is strongly preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Delivering outstanding service to guests and leading others by example
  • With the support of the General Manager, develop service guidelines and ensure practices that are seamlessly executed
  • Build an inspired, collaborative, masterful hospitality-minded team
  • Monitor and track departmental operations performance
  • Take the lead in ensuring a “guests first” approach
  • Monitor and manage staffing to optimize guest satisfaction while balancing with budget
  • Serve as a mentor and develop relationships with managers to support their growth, while simultaneously being a mentee, taking in all there is to learn for your own professional development
  • Participate in and carry out additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager and Corporate Office
