Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional business ethics, and customer service excellence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills, manage time well, correctly prioritizes, and is flexible.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and other financial software.
  • Knowledge of financial principles and regulations specific to the hospitality industry.
  • Experience with financial reporting, cost control, tax filings, and auditing.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial reports to management and working collaboratively with hotel staff and vendors.
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear, understandable manner to non-financial team members.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring that financial reports and transactions are error-free.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the hotel’s operations, financial regulations, and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost control or revenue enhancement.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborating with hotel management to develop annual budgets, track performance against these budgets, and provide regular forecasts to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Overseeing the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments to vendors and accurate invoices for hotel services. Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Payroll Management: Ensuring accurate processing of payroll, including overtime, benefits, and taxes, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitoring and managing cash flow to ensure the hotel has sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations and to meet financial obligations.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaboration with Hotel Management: Working closely with the hotel’s management team to provide financial insights that help drive decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and enhance profitability.
