About The Position

As a Hostperson at Gymkhana in Aria, you will welcome guests and help set the tone for their dining experience. You will greet guests courteously, promptly, and professionally, and maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment. You will provide Food Servers, Bus Persons, and Food Service Runners with guest contact and table information to support smooth service. The role contributes to an Indian-cuisine dining experience featuring tandoor-grilled specialties, biryanis, and chaat-style sharing plates.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of prior relevant experience as a restaurant Hostperson.
• Prior experience with the OpenTable system.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Restaurant Reservations about special orders, cake orders, and other special requests, and convey this information to management.
• Maintain knowledge of daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, table, seat, and station numbers, table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
• Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant.
• Answer phones, keep an accurate count of reservations, and manage the reservation book.
• Ensure menus have the correct inserts and current information, and replace menus in poor condition.
• Communicate guests’ needs to the kitchen and management, share guest reactions and comments with management, and assist management to support smooth operations and quality service.
• Check on guests waiting to be seated and keep them informed that their tables are being prepared.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Shut down the podium and forward phones to voice-loop at the end of the shift.
