Hostperson - The Library - Park MGM
About The Position
As a Hostperson for The Library at Park MGM, you will welcome guests warmly, courteously, and promptly, creating a strong first impression at the restaurant. You will maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area and coordinate with servers, bussers, and runners to manage seating and table flow while providing refined hospitality consistent with Park MGM's non-smoking standards. The role also involves managing reservations and guest requests, maintaining knowledge of restaurant operations and scheduled activities, communicating guest needs and feedback to the kitchen and management, and keeping assigned work areas clean, sanitary, and organized.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of prior relevant experience as a Hostperson in a fine-dining restaurant or similar upscale environment.
- Previous experience with the OpenTable system.
Responsibilities
- Communicate special orders, cake orders, and special requests to management in coordination with Restaurant Reservations.
- Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, table, seat, and station numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
- Greet guests promptly as they enter the restaurant.
- Answer phones, keep an accurate count of reservations, and manage the reservation book.
- Ensure menus have current inserts and replace menus that are in poor condition.
- Communicate guest needs to the kitchen and management, relay guest reactions and comments to management, and assist management as needed to support smooth operations and quality service.
- Check frequently with guests waiting to be seated and keep them informed while tables are prepared.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Shut down the podium and forward phones to voice-loop at the end of the shift.
- Coordinate seating and table flow with servers, bussers, and runners.
