About The Position

General Purpose The Host serves as the first and last impression for guests at Brickstone Brewhouse, ensuring a warm welcome, seamless seating, and a fond farewell. This role is essential for managing reservations, coordinating service flow, and maintaining the high standards of hospitality and cleanliness that define the Brickstone experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Guest Interaction & Seating: Greet and seat guests warmly, introducing them to their server and highlighting any current promotions. Manage guest flow efficiently by coordinating reservations, waitlists, and table rotations. Observe guest needs throughout the dining experience, ensuring exceptional service (e.g., noticing drink refills). Reservation & Waitlist Management: Operate reservation systems to record bookings, note special requests, and adjust seating plans for maximum efficiency. Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about Brickstone’s menu, hours, and promotions. Oversee To-Go Orders: Intake and oversee to-go orders as they come in, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Process payments for to-go orders, issue dining charges, and reconcile the cash drawer as needed. Maintain accuracy in handling cash, credit cards, and other transactions. Keno Operations: Assist guests with Keno-related inquiries, such as how to play or submitting tickets. Ensure Keno supplies (e.g., game slips, pencils) are stocked and accessible. Monitor the Keno terminal, process ticket submissions, and handle payouts accurately and efficiently. Team Collaboration: Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and bartenders to ensure smooth communication and service flow. Perform opening and closing side duties, including ensuring stations are fully set up and ready for service. Cleanliness & Organization: Ensure the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas are clean, stocked, and organized at all times. Periodically check and maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and the dining room. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
  • Frequently stand, walk, and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally perform tasks requiring stooping, kneeling, or reaching with arms and hands.
  • Ability to work during peak service hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Warm, engaging personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and addressing guest needs.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with a strong focus on teamwork.
  • Ability to remain composed and organized in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a hosting or guest service role.
  • Familiarity with reservation and POS systems (e.g., OpenTable, Toast).
  • ServSafe or equivalent food handling certification.
