About The Position

Join our team at a busy, high-quality hospitality venue focused on guest experience and efficient, professional service. We are seeking a friendly, reliable front-of-house Hostess to support a single private event for approximately 100 guests. This is a one-day, evening position (6:00 pm–10:00 pm) and ideal for experienced hospitality staff who thrive in fast-paced, guest-facing roles. We operate a welcoming, fast-paced hospitality venue that prioritises guest satisfaction, professionalism and smooth operational delivery. Our front-of-house team delivers memorable service across events, reservations and on-floor guest care. We value attention to detail, a calm approach under pressure and a collaborative team spirit. This role will serve as the primary front-of-house host for a single private event of around 100 guests, running from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The successful candidate will greet and direct guests on arrival, manage guest flow and seating as required, coordinate with service and kitchen teams, and ensure guests receive prompt, courteous attention throughout the event. The role is customer-facing and requires excellent communication skills, a professional demeanour and the ability to manage multiple tasks during a busy service period.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality front-of-house, events or hosting roles preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, professional manner.
  • Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing light manual tasks
  • Basic numeracy and familiarity with simple check-in or guestlist systems are an advantage.
  • Flexible availability for evening work (the shift for this role is 6:00 pm–10:00 pm on the event date).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly on arrival; manage event guest list and check-in procedures.
  • Direct guests to designated areas or seating, manage queues and ensure smooth arrival flow.
  • Coordinate closely with servers, event staff and kitchen to communicate seating status and guest needs.
  • Provide clear information to guests about event timings, facilities and any venue policies.
  • Monitor guest comfort and escalate any issues to the event manager or supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with cloakroom, coat checks and storage of guest belongings if required by the event.
  • Support post-event duties such as assisting with guest departures, basic tidying and reporting any lost property.
  • Adhere to health, safety and venue procedures throughout the event.
