About The Position

The Hostess is responsible for greeting guests warmly upon arrival, managing waitlists and reservations, and escorting guests to their tables. This role involves maintaining an organized seating chart, communicating accurate wait times, and supporting overall front-of-house operations to ensure guests have an excellent first and last impression of their dining experience. The Hostess must also ensure the entrance and lobby areas are clean, welcoming, and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Must pass background and drug screening per Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain a gaming license (Medical Marijuana cards are accepted).
  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed or assigned—including weekends, evenings, and holidays—is required.
  • Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting to 50 lbs on occasion.
  • Familiarity with managing phone lines in a moderately loud environment is also necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage waitlists and reservations, and escort guests to their tables.
  • Maintain an organized seating chart, communicate accurate wait times, and support overall front-of-house operations.
  • Ensure the entrance and lobby areas are clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, providing guests with excellent first and last impressions of their dining experience.
  • Provide accurate wait time estimates and communicate clearly with guests.
  • Escort guests to assigned tables and present clean menus.
  • Maintain an organized and current seating chart, ensuring balanced server rotation.
  • Answer phone calls courteously, provide information, and take reservations or to-go orders as needed.
  • Keep the host stand, entryway, and front-of-house areas clean and tidy at all times.
  • Monitor dining room flow and coordinate with servers, bussers, and managers to ensure timely seating and smooth service.
  • Assist with opening and closing side work, supporting overall front-of-house operations as needed.
  • Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when appropriate.
  • Adhere to uniform requirements and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing KGI.
  • Follow all applicable state, federal, and tribal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
