The Host is responsible for greeting guests and arranging for prompt seating, ensuring guests feel welcome and comfortable in accordance with Boyd Gaming customer service standards. This role actively builds and retains guest relations, acts as a mentor to other team members, and provides superior guest service. The Host must have the resiliency to deal with difficult guests and the ability to work harmoniously with guests. Responsibilities include greeting guests in a friendly, courteous manner and arranging for seating, monitoring room atmosphere, and providing information on all aspects of Boyd Gaming services and facilities. In front-of-house areas, the Host greets guests, answers inquiries, and ensures customer satisfaction. The role also involves answering telephones, handling guest inquiries in person or by telephone, and assisting with overall room functions by cleaning and resetting tables, managing menus, folding napkins, and distributing customer comment cards. Effective communication with customers and employees, and the ability to move efficiently around work areas are essential. This position operates in a working environment that can be noisy, crowded, and smoky, depending on customer volume.
