About The Position

Uchi Washington D.C. is accepting resumes for Hosts. Located at 1150 17th Street NW in downtown Washington, D.C., the Host supports restaurant service by managing reservations and walk-ins, setting guest expectations, providing cocktail service to waiting guests, and creating memorable guest experiences. Compensation is $16–$20 per hour plus tips; Hosts earn an average of $22 per hour with base pay and tips.

Requirements

Effectively communicate with guests and other employees.
Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold.
Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives.
Work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area.

Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
Stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, and reach as needed.

Responsibilities

Manage reservations and walk-ins.

Detect and identify safety issues and comply with safety guidelines and standards.
Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 pounds; stock inventory and perform restocking duties.
Stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, and reach to access areas and items.
Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs.
Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces.
Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming.
Understand directives and communicate effectively with leadership, coworkers, guests, and other employees.
