About The Position

The Restaurant Host serves as the first point of contact for Q39 guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while managing the efficient flow of guests into the dining room, patio, and bar. This role is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and the waitlist, coordinating seating assignments, and setting the tone for a positive dining experience.

Requirements

• 1+ year experience in a full-service restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
• Friendly, polished, and professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with reservation or POS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome all guests warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Accurately manage the waitlist, quote wait times, and record guest information in the reservation system.
• Plan and rotate guest seating to optimize service flow and server balance, including large parties using Q39 seating standards.
• Accommodate guest seating preferences whenever possible and communicate needs to servers and management.
• Escort guests to tables, present menus, and provide server introductions.
• Assist with cleaning and resetting tables; maintain a clean and organized host stand and entry area.
• Work with the Front of the House team to ensure seamless service, dividing responsibilities as needed.
• Thank guests and invite them to return, creating craveable and memorable dining experiences.
