About The Position

Colorado Mountain Brewery is seeking Peak Season employees for the Host position. This role is crucial for making a great first impression by greeting and seating guests warmly and efficiently. The Host manages the restaurant's flow, seating charts, and reservation systems, while also communicating important information to servers, chefs, and managers. The position requires the ability to clean as needed, multitask, and work effectively under pressure with other staff members.

Requirements

  • Exceptional guest or customer service skills
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English well enough for effective communication.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide proof upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • 1 year of hosting experience in a high volume restaurant is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests in a warm, friendly, and sincere manner.
  • Manage seating charts and reservation systems.
  • Relay pertinent information regarding guest requests, menu counts, or other items to servers, chefs, or managers.
  • Maintain the flow of the restaurant.
  • Clean as required.
  • Multi-task effectively.
  • Work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff.
  • Provide a welcoming and friendly greeting for guests, use guest's name, confirm number in party, ask guests for their seating preference and special needs.
  • Walk with guests to their table, alerting them of steps and inclines, and assisting if necessary.
  • Inform server and/or manager of special needs.
  • Present menus to guests and inform server of guest presence at the table.
  • Return to the lobby to greet guests and check the dining room for guests who are ready to leave.
  • Communicate to the kitchen and management on open menu counts and ensure proper seating and flow of the restaurant.
  • Maintain knowledge of the floor plan, server station assignments, and table numbers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the entry, seating area, restrooms, and any other area of the restaurant on a regular basis.
  • Inspect menus for cleanliness and crispness and change out when necessary.
  • Walk through dining area and bar area, note and correct any irregularities.
  • Check dining room and floors for cleanliness and take actions where needed.
  • Retrieve reservations accurately using the Open Table reservation system in a courteous manner.
  • Maintain accurate seating chart and cover tally.
  • Answer phones with knowledge of the restaurant and/or direct guests for further assistance.
  • Acknowledge and thank exiting guests, ask them to return, ask about their dining experience, and follow through with the manager on any guest issues.
  • Perform all opening or closing duties as scheduled to ensure the restaurant is clean and organized.
  • Handle issues or concerns appropriately with a calm, positive demeanor.
  • Perform other duties as requested/assigned.
