About The Position

Holeman and Finch Public House is seeking talented and experienced hosts to join their team. The role involves engaging with guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and managing the flow of service. Hosts will greet guests, guide them through the space, introduce menus, and actively address guest needs and questions. They will also serve as a key communicator with the front-of-house team, relaying important information such as allergies and special requests to managers and servers.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant host experience
  • OpenTable experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, via phone and in person
  • Able to stand for long periods of time; occasionally kneel, bend, and crouch as required to reach items at varying height levels
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment calmly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and seating guests
  • Managing reservations and maintaining an updated reservation book with dining flow to ensure accurate turn times and wait lists
  • Setting up the restaurant in preparation for and during service
  • Work as a team player, helping your fellow team with guest interactions and duties to contribute to a positive working environment
  • Possess the ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and openly communicate with your manager and fellow service team about next steps
  • Consistent adherence to the uniform policy
  • Reports for duty on time and manages one’s shift, communicating with the management team when leaving their station for breaks or family meal
