About The Position
The Adolphus is a 407-room downtown hotel recognized for its history and hospitality. The Host/Hostess welcomes and seats guests at City Hall Bistro, manages reservations and guest inquiries, and communicates with front-of-house staff and leadership to help deliver an exceptional dining experience. The role calls for an organized, quick-thinking, positive, and personable individual who can anticipate guests’ and restaurant needs and support efficient service flow. The position also involves performing opening and closing duties as needed, maintaining an orderly restaurant environment, and contributing to the restaurant’s overall ambiance through professional appearance and demeanor.
Requirements

- Ability to be patient with guests’ requests.
Nice To Haves
- Prior restaurant experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly while adhering to service standards.
- Monitor guest seating and plan ahead to address guests’ and restaurant needs and maximize service flow.
- Use and accurately maintain the restaurant reservation system, including table status, rotations, cover counts, and guest notes.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Perform opening and closing duties as needed.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and crisp environment.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, contributing to the restaurant’s overall ambiance and presentation.
- Take and confirm reservations, seat guests, answer inquiries, and communicate clearly and efficiently with front-of-house staff and leadership.
