Host/Hostess (On Call)
About The Position
Culinaire is hiring an on-call Host/Hostess at Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The role greets and seats guests, helps create an enjoyable dining experience, and handles customer-service situations. No previous experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $13.00 per hour. The schedule is on call, Sunday through Saturday, with hours that may vary; further details are provided during the interview. Culinaire provides upscale food and beverage management services to venues including art museums, cultural landmarks, hotels, performing theaters, restaurants, and special event venues. Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and warmly, and direct them to tables based on availability or preferred seating arrangements.
- Help create an enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean, and neat environment.
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate flexibility, patience, and an interest in people.
- Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
- Supervise food-service associates in the dining room to help ensure proper customer service, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Help train new food-service team members.
- Supervise dining-room closing and ensure side work and station setup are completed properly.
- Know emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests to safety during a fire or other emergency.
- Assist with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards.
- Operate equipment as needed, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea or soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Coordinate with staff from other departments while performing job duties and during special events or functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
