About The Position

The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel & Restaurant is seeking experienced host/hostess! With nine luxury boutique resorts and six world-class restaurants, the Kennebunkport Resort Collection (KRC) represents the best that Maine has to offer. We are dedicated to ensuring that our guests make the most of every moment in Kennebunkport and create unforgettable experiences along the way. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, strong planning and problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay organized and multi-task in a very busy setting. Major responsibilities include ensuring guests are greeted immediately and guest needs are responded to quickly, properly booking the restaurant (using the Open Table System ) to maximize the number of guests received, and maintaining a consistent flow of guests' orders to the kitchen while ensuring guests are satisfied. Responsible for answering incoming telephone calls and reservation email correspondence; greeting/directing hotel guests/staff and/or the general public. Must be able to be on feet for the entire length of shift.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring guests are greeted immediately and guest needs are responded to quickly
  • Properly booking the restaurant (using the Open Table System) to maximize the number of guests received
  • Maintaining a consistent flow of guests' orders to the kitchen while ensuring guests are satisfied
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and reservation email correspondence
  • Greeting/directing hotel guests/staff and/or the general public
  • Monitoring and maintaining acceptable guest turn times
  • Engaging in clear, consistent communications with leadership and restaurant staff on a frequent basis
  • Prioritizing, delegating and responding in a timely fashion
  • Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor
