About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Restaurant Host to provide warm, friendly greetings and responsive service to dining guests. The host manages efficient and timely seating while keeping guests’ preferences in mind, welcoming them, managing wait times, and setting a positive tone for their visit. The role coordinates with servers and other team members to maintain an organized, friendly dining environment and support extraordinary guest experiences. The position may start as early as September and pays $14–$15 per hour.

Requirements

General food and beverage knowledge.
At least one year of high-volume experience in an upscale dining environment.
Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and phone system.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

OpenTable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner and escort them to the assigned dining area.
Rotate tables when seating guests throughout the shift.
Courteously announce the name and party number when tables become available, using a pleasant, professional, and clear tone of voice.
Present menus upon seating and announce the server’s name.
Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
Assist fellow associates, including servers, bussers, co-hosts/hostesses, and management, as situations arise.
Answer the telephone using the proper Kalahari Resort verbiage.
Coordinate with servers and other team members to maintain an organized and friendly dining environment.
Manage guest waiting times efficiently and help set a positive tone for the visit.
