About The Position

The Fifth Avenue Hotel, an award-winning luxury destination, is seeking a Host (Bell / Door Person) to join our Guest Services team. Located in the heart of Manhattan, our hotel is a vibrant oasis featuring 149 beautifully appointed guest rooms, where exceptional service, striking design, world-class cuisine, and immersive cultural experiences come together to create something truly unforgettable. At The Fifth, we invite our guests to experience the city as a flâneur—with curiosity, discovery, and inspiration at every turn. Position Overview As a Host (Bell / Door Person), you are the first and last impression of The Fifth Avenue Hotel. You will warmly welcome guests upon arrival, provide seamless assistance with luggage and transportation, and deliver thoughtful, anticipatory service throughout each guest’s stay. This role is integral to creating a gracious, polished, and memorable arrival and departure experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous customer service experience required; luxury hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, professional presence
  • Ability to remain composed and service-focused in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests at the hotel entrance with genuine hospitality and professionalism
  • Assist guests with arrival and departure logistics, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience
  • Coordinate transportation and support valet or car service arrangements as needed
  • Load, unload, and transport luggage with care and efficiency
  • Tag, store, and retrieve luggage accurately and securely
  • Escort guests to our reception desk, ensuring comfort and ease upon arrival
  • Provide a thoughtful overview of hotel amenities, and services
  • Anticipate guest needs and offer assistance proactively
  • Deliver packages, amenities, and requested items to guest rooms promptly and discreetly
  • Assist with room changes and special requests with attention to detail
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the guest entrance and luggage storage areas
  • Stock and support operational needs when necessary
  • Maintain familiarity with local attractions, transportation options, and neighborhood highlights
  • Keep informational materials current and readily available for guests
  • Partner closely with Front Office and Guest Services teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Maintain awareness of guest feedback and satisfaction metrics
  • Consistently contribute to enhancing the overall guest experience
  • Practice safe work habits and follow all safety guidelines
  • Adhere to hotel standards, policies, and procedures
  • Perform other duties as requested by leadership in support of the team and guest experience
