About The Position

This is a routine manual labor position supporting daily cleaning at the medical center. Duties include cleaning restrooms; removing trash; dusting and damp wiping; spot cleaning and mopping; collecting dry and wet spills; sweeping and vacuuming; cleaning mirrors and glass; making beds; polishing furniture and metal; and replenishing paper, soap, and plastic supplies. The role may involve cleaning ancillary areas, patient rooms, and floors, as well as responding to cleaning tasks received through the EPIC system.

Requirements

Training and experience that may be gained through training schools, and some experience performing cleaning work and/or other manual labor.
Willingness and experience to deliver exceptional job performance.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma, GED, or GED-equivalent program; related experience may be considered in lieu of a diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Clean office spaces, waiting areas, and/or areas outside buildings daily.
Clean high-volume areas, particularly bathrooms and the Emergency Room, two to three times daily.
Clean discharge rooms daily using the 10-step cleaning process and respond immediately to discharge-cleaning pages when required.
Perform terminal cleaning in rooms for patients who had precautions.
Dust-mop and sweep floors, vacuum and bonnet carpet, and strip and refinish floors.
Respond to tasks through the EPIC system and use a phone to update task status when work has started or been completed.
Remove, cover, and wash trash containers as designated by the Team Leader.
Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
