About The Position

Restaurant Associates is seeking a Hospitality Management Intern to join their team for the Summer 2027 season. This internship offers hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of contract food service, providing a comprehensive understanding of hospitality management. Interns will rotate through various departments, including Operations, Marketing, Purchasing & Quality Assurance, Finance, Culinary, and Catering & Events. The program aims to equip interns with practical skills and industry insights to foster their future success in the hospitality field. This is an opportunity to launch a hospitality career with real-world experience and meaningful mentorship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Culinary Arts.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or professional culinary program
  • Meet university’s GPA requirement for internship
  • Successful completion of sanitation standards training
  • Successful completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework
  • Must be available to work 20 - 40 hours a week based on business needs & internship requirements

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through different areas of the business to gain a well-rounded understanding of hospitality management, including operations, marketing, purchasing & quality assurance, finance, culinary, and catering & events.
  • Learn how day-to-day hospitality operations run, including guest experience, employee engagement, menu planning, staffing, and business performance.
  • Gain experience with signage, branding, social media, special events, and other marketing efforts that drive guest engagement.
  • Learn about vendor partnerships, sourcing, inventory management, food safety, quality standards, and cost control.
  • Build an understanding of hospitality finance through exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, revenue tracking, and key business metrics.
  • Gain hands-on experience with kitchen operations, recipe execution, service flow, and culinary best practices.
  • Learn the ins and outs of catering and event management, including sales support, event logistics, staffing, and event execution for both small and large events.
  • Visit other accounts to see different operations and gain exposure to the full scope of the business.
  • Complete a capstone project focused on improving an aspect of the operation and presenting your recommendations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and contribute to a positive guest experience.
  • Follow company policies, safety standards, and client expectations.
