About The Position

Our Hospitality Services team is charged with facilitating food services to Susquehanna employees throughout the work day. This includes setup and breakdown of meals, refreshments and snacks that are housed in cafeterias, micro cafes throughout the building. Your responsibilities will include interacting with vendors who are bringing food and beverage deliveries to our site, placing, receiving and stocking this inventory in accordance with the FIFO (first-in, first-out) method. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in catering or hospitality, are willing to train, possess a level of professionalism, and are ready to grow in their office services career. We are currently hiring for multiple openings with schedules running from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a cafeteria or similar position
  • Experience handling food products in a safe and clean manner
  • Provide exceptional customer service, fostering positive relationships with team members in a professional, kind and compassionate manner
  • Willingness to work additional and flexible hours when necessary and being available during busy periods
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, upwards of six hours at a time
  • Must be able to bend, twist and lift 50+ pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically expected
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Microsoft Word

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including wiping down countertops and equipment, and sanitizing surfaces
  • Handle and resolve issues that may arise in a fast-paced food service setting
  • Utilize organizational skills to manage inventory, schedules, and day-to-day operations
  • Train new staff and ensure existing employees receive proper guidance and skill development
  • Understand budgeting and cost control principles to manage resources efficiently
  • Properly store perishable and non-perishable food items to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
  • Check and restock food supplies
  • Conduct routine maintenance on kitchen equipment to ensure it functions properly
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and practices to ensure compliance and maintain a safe food service environment
