About The Position

The Hospitality Assistant organizes and maintains the community catering program and coordinates day-to-day needs for residents and/or management related to the Dining Department. Daily, the Hospitality Assistant ensures the coffee bar and pub café are serviced while creating an enjoyable experience for residents, staff, and visitors and their guests. This position holds responsibility for maintaining a high standard of customer service across the Dining Department throughout Independent Living.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or HSE
  • 1-year related work experience
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instructions well
  • Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves menu items as per customer order while maintaining the level of service that ensures satisfaction in all areas, such as quality, service, and problem-solving opportunities to all residents, guests, and visitors of the community
  • Prepares and serves Starbucks™ products according to the recipe cards provided
  • Maintains accurate decline charge records as outlined
  • Stocks and restocks the food items and supplies needed for the successful operation of the coffee bar and pub café services
  • Collaborates with Executive Chef on ordering Starbucks™ products and supplies
  • Acts as a support liaison with the Point-of-Sale system used throughout the Dining Department
  • Receives and tracks all catering orders and inputs data on catering forms while communicating the needs to the dining management and production team
  • Is available, as needed, to support staff during meal services to ensure a pleasant, safe, and pleasurable dining experience
  • Collaborates with Dining Leadership to provide a well-suited, evolving Dining Program for the residents, staff, families, and visitors in which it serves across all service lines
  • Assists in logistical planning and execution as it pertains to Department operational changes, according to the needs of the organization
  • Ensures compliance with all HACCP policies and procedures
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner and maintains a safe working environment, fixing immediate needs with appropriate safety measures
  • Performs general sanitation in accordance with DOH regulations
  • Completes all required training and in-services
  • All other duties as assigned
