About The Position
We are seeking a Hospitalist to provide labor and delivery coverage in a hospitalist model. This role involves managing both low and high-risk OB patients, including those with complications like toxemia and diabetes. The position also requires backing up midwife services and responding to calls from 7p-7a. Additionally, the Hospitalist will perform emergent GYN surgical procedures (laparoscopic and open) for unassigned ER patients and collaborate with a support staff of RNs, CNMs, and other OB/GYN providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospitalist
- Active Ohio medical license or willingness to obtain
- ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications
- NPDB report required at time of presentation (pulled within 30 days)
Responsibilities
- Provide labor and delivery coverage for the hospitalist model, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
- Manage high-risk and low-risk OB patients, including complications such as toxemia, diabetes, etc.
- Back up midwife services and respond to call for midwife from 7p-7a.
- Perform emergent GYN surgical procedures (laparoscopic and open) as needed for unassigned ER patients.
- Collaborate with RNs, CNM, and other OB/GYN providers to ensure continuity of care.
