Requirements

• MD/DO, foreign equivalent degree is acceptable
• Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine
• Mass Medical license

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to medically complex hospital inpatients.
• Order or interpret the results of tests such as laboratory tests and radiographs (x-rays).
• Admit and discharge patients for hospital stays. Refer patients to medical specialists, social services, or other professionals as appropriate.
• Participate in continuing education activities to maintain or enhance knowledge and skills.
• Direct or support quality improvement projects or safety programs.
• Minimum of 50 hours a year of teaching medical students, interns, and residents.
