About The Position

Fox Chase Cancer Center, part of Temple Health, is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician to provide per diem overnight coverage when current staff are on vacation or call out sick. This role is strictly per diem, with no guaranteed shifts. The position provides inpatient medical care for admitted patients, with an approximate admission volume of 0–3 patients per night. The Hospitalist works with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals and ensures continuity of care through handoffs to the daytime hospitalist team.

Requirements

• MD or DO with Internal Medicine or Family Medicine training.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, as applicable.
• Active Pennsylvania medical license.
• Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hospital environment.
• Must be comfortable with strictly per diem work and no guaranteed shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight hospitalist coverage for admitted patients.
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring inpatient medical care.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Complete accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Ensure continuity of care and appropriate handoffs to the daytime hospitalist team.
