About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Hospitalist NP/PA position. The role involves inpatient coverage in a 25-bed unit, with an average of 10-12 patients per day. The schedule is one week on and one week off. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The facility uses EPIC for EMR, and credentialing takes approximately 90 days, with temporary privileges available.

Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Hospitalist experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Wisconsin OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Wisconsin
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
