About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a new 10-bed inpatient facility opening soon. The role involves providing care to adult patients with an average census of 7-10. The position utilizes the EPIC EMR system, and credentialing is expected to take 60 days. This is an independent contractor (1099) role.
Requirements
- Active Wisconsin licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Hospitalist experience or equivalent
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Wisconsin
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Wisconsin
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program

- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
