About The Position

We have an opening for an Experienced Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established hospitalist group at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in both Aberdeen and Bel Air locations! Our hospitalist team provides inpatient internal medicine care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds and planning for discharge. Follow all established policies for maintenance and signing of medical records. Contribute to the achievement of department goals and adhere to policies, procedures, and quality and safety standards. Submit accurate and timely charges for all professional services performed. This is a full-service hospitalist practice at University of Maryland (UM) Upper Chesapeake Health locations in Bel Air and Aberdeen, part of the University of Maryland Medical System. It is a university hospital with excellent specialty support. The average daily patient load is 15. The ICU is closed, so the team is not expected to perform procedures or run codes. The staffing model includes 23 providers: 12 physicians and 11 APPs. The EMR system used is EPIC. The hospital has 257 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center. Responsibilities include providing acute inpatient care within the hospital setting, including admitting patients, performing physical exams, ordering tests, diagnosing, performing hospital rounds, and planning for discharge. Our Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners work side by side with our physicians as clinical colleagues. APPs are encouraged to work at the top of their license. Requirements

  • 1+ years acute inpatient experience as an advanced practice provider
  • Strong inpatient skill set
