The position requires performing and recording history and physical examinations, developing and executing treatment plans, ordering laboratory studies and consultations, and administering medications. Responsibilities also include vent and airway management, nutrition management (such as TPN), and assisting with patient follow-up. The role involves supervising and teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and clinical team members, including advanced practice providers, nurses, and respiratory therapists. Additionally, the position requires participation in research, managing call coverage schedules, and maintaining effective working relationships with other physicians and hospital staff. The Hospitalist/Intensivist will serve as the first responding physician for emergency services and coordinate non-emergency care, ensuring effective communication regarding patient status and treatment plans.
