About The Position

This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders. The hourly rate for this position is $20.05/hr.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Continuous movement in and out of vehicle
Ability to work well with others and independently
2 years of driving and/or customer service experience
Good driving record
Good communication skills; both oral and written
Ability to learn required computer functions and programs
Attention to detail

Responsibilities

Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks) including Consigning, Shipping, Packing, Reconciliation, and Irradiation/modification of Hospital Orders.
Performing timely driving functions, including delivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders, performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites, and performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab.
Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers, including daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services to ensure correct orders and component shipments.
Maintaining adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services.
Maintaining Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.
Maintaining a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution, and transport of blood components.
