About The Position

The Hospital Services Representative position is responsible for receiving, selecting, packaging, and arranging delivery for blood components. This role maintains a high level of customer service, ensuring that every effort is made to meet the needs of both internal and external customers, including friendliness, understanding and empathy, fairness, providing options and alternatives, and sharing information. The position also involves performing vehicle maintenance tasks and coordinating shipments and product receipt via Fed-Ex and other freight transport.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with no moving traffic violations within the last 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, selecting, packaging, and arranging delivery for blood components.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Accurately receiving, recording, and verifying customer orders.
  • Accurately receiving, filling, and packing orders.
  • Conducting daily deliveries and hospital pick-ups to customers.
  • Adhering to established procedures for accurately processing component returns.
  • Maintaining proper inventory control methods following current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Updating each component product into systems during delivery returns.
  • Organizing blood products by expiration dates, and following SOP to discard expired Product.
  • Maintaining set ranges for outdated RBCs/Apheresis components and contract/Adhoc units.
  • Reporting questionable blood products or anomalies to a laboratory supervisor or designee.
  • Contacting hospitals and other centers to maximize utilization of available inventory.
  • Appropriately responding to all alarms.
  • Performing irradiate blood components.
  • Managing nonconforming product/unsuitable product for example, recalls, quarantine, unsuitable returns, according to applicable procedures.
  • Packing research customer orders as required.
  • Recovered plasma processing, packing, and shipment.
  • Coordinating hospital sample retrieval as needed across all shifts.
  • Accepting, selecting, packing, and shipping units for antigen negative orders in the absence of IRL staff.
  • Answering phones and accepting customer orders, making adjustments, and notifying customers of any changes.
  • Performing vehicle maintenance tasks, including but not limited to oil changes and car washes.
  • Coordinating shipments and product receipt via Fed-Ex and other freight transport.
  • Receiving samples and deliveries for other departments as applicable via external entryway.
