About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to work in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves providing customer service and performing skilled specimen collections, while serving as a representative of the company. The position follows a 7-on/7-off schedule, Wednesday through Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Travel to additional sites may be needed. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
• Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
• Process specimens.
