About The Position

SpecialtyRx is hiring a licensed pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. The pharmacist evaluates medication orders, ensures medications are correctly prepared and labeled, and works with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members to address medication-related matters. The role follows a Wednesday-through-Tuesday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. every other week.

Requirements

• Active pharmacist license with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
• Ability to multitask and be reliable.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to perform light lifting.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous long-term care experience.
• Knowledge of the Frameworks LTC system.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriate drug, dosage, potential interactions, and administration.
• Ensure dispensed medications are supplied and labeled correctly.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members about medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and client-facility staff when necessary.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Maintain customer databases, including medical history and clinical and laboratory data.
