About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. The role performs blood and other specimen collections, prepares and processes specimens for testing, completes accurate patient and billing information, and provides customer service to patients. The position also includes administrative and clerical duties and travel to additional sites when needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays. Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
If substituting certification or a completed training program for work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work overtime.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
Prepare and process collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
