The Manager of Pharmacy, in conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for the coordination and control of the Pharmacy Service throughout the hospital. This includes maintaining policies and procedures that ensure the safe administration, control, storage, and use of medications. The role serves as the PIC or acting PIC in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy. Responsibilities include staff management, financial decisions (inventory control, budgeting), interactions with physicians and other departments regarding quality of care and education, ensuring licensing criteria are met, attending administrative meetings related to regulatory affairs, and implementing/changing operations based on State and Federal regulations. The position also encompasses any other functions related to patient care and pharmacy operations consistent with hospital policies and State and Federal laws.
