About The Position

The Hospital Pharmacy Manager, in conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for the coordination and control of pharmacy services throughout the hospital. This includes maintaining policies and procedures that ensure the safe administration, control, storage, and use of medications. The role may involve serving as the full-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or acting PIC in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy. Key responsibilities include managing pharmacy staff, financial decisions such as inventory control and budgeting, interacting with physicians and other departments regarding quality of care and education, ensuring licensing criteria are met, attending administrative meetings related to regulatory affairs, and implementing operational changes based on State and Federal regulations. The position also encompasses other functions related to patient care and pharmacy operations consistent with hospital policies and State and Federal laws.

Requirements

  • Current state Registered Pharmacist License
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • 3 or more years of hospital pharmacy experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience with hospital computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing programs, and other databases required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous pharmacy leadership experience preferred
  • Applicable board certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and control of pharmacy services throughout the hospital.
